Wooden board 10/5 meters
Górczyński, on the other hand, redefines the rules of spatial dynamics to construct a distinct sense of tension. This time, his approach is firm, yet less aggressive than in his previous works. The warmth of wood, the coldness of masonry, and light are the elements participating in this new transformation. The artist reads the space, seeking relationships embedded within both its geometry and its material. Serving as a kind of artistic archaeology, one part of the work "connects" the room featuring a horizontal arrangement of wooden elements with the room housing Balcerowiak's work. The latter deliberately coexist with "Islands"—their monumentality and regularity leaving a clear imprint on the dynamics of the space.
The space unlocked by the work Whenever is entirely different. Here, instead of a formal reading of space, we encounter a deeply lyrical form—a story, or rather a series of fragments. The sculptures only seemingly dissolve into the space; cast from its very matter, they whisper in the corners. Existing outside of time, they give the impression of distant, impersonal... stories. Yet each CORNER allows the viewer to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of intimacy. Whose CORNER are we in? As the artist writes: "We live in a world that is not experienced as a closed whole. We live in a world of fragments. (...) These fragments often do not fit together; it is we who combine them in our imagination and give them meaning." And so...
